Dear Friends,

My name is Tony Payton Jr., and I live in Frankford area of Philadelphia.
I am running for State Representative for the 179th District. I am running because I believe that we stand at a crossroads. I am ready to tackle issues head on. Reduction in crime, making streets safe, quality education, job creation and access to adequate healthcare are all very important issues to me. As a candidate for State Representative, I am offering real solutions, to real problems, facing real people in the 179th District. I want to represent you in Harrisburg. I will not give myself a raise but I will work hard to get one for you.  As a politically active citizen, and a catalyst for change, I want better.

We can do better. Failure to address existing problems in our schools and within our communities will only continue to fuel the fire of under representation within our community and misrepresentation by our current elected officials. Grown from the American dream, is the idea of success against all odds. With strong leadership in the 179th District...

No matter what it takes, in the coming months, I will travel the district, meeting with neighbors, friends, and business and community leaders, prepared to work hard, and dedicate myself to helping you.
